The New Hampshire Judicial Branch is responsible for the New Hampshire bar examination. There is no local New Hampshire content.

The New Hampshire bar exam, a 2-day exam, consists of

• the six-hour Multistate Bar Examination (MBE), weighted 50%;
• two 90-minute Multistate Performance Test (MPT) problems, weighted 20%
• six 30-minute Multistate Essay Examination (MEE) questions, weighted 30%.

The successful applicant must achieve a combined scaled score of 270 out of 400. The applicant also must pass the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE) with a scaled score of 79 before or after the bar examination.

The following subjects may be tested on the New Hampshire bar exam:

• business associations (agency & partnership, corporations, LLCs)
• civil procedure 
• conflict of laws
• constitutional law
• contracts, including UCC Article 2 sales
• criminal law and procedure 
• evidence
• family law  
• real property, including real estate finance
• torts
• trusts and estates (wills, trusts, and estates)
• UCC Articles 1 (general provisions), 2 (sales), 3 (negotiable instruments), 9 (secured transactions).
